The airport has been in operation since 1959 and initially accepted only civilian and military aircraft. The non-public part of the departure terminal is a two-story building, with gates A1 to A4 located on the ground floor, and B1 to B3 on the second floor. Facilities for passengers include a restaurant, bar, buffet, shop, children's playground, and changing table. The terminal has a capacity of 500 people per hour.
